About the Houston Dow Institute

The Houston Dow Institute (HDI) is a fully volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose objective is to promote higher education by providing scholarships to qualified candidates enrolled in recognized degree programs at accredited colleges and universities.

Scholarships are accomplished through financial contributions and fundraising events, such as golf tournaments, raffles, and sporting clays tournaments.

HDI has been awarding scholarships for over 54 years!

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, a candidate must have one of the following relationships to a Dow employee or retiree of the Houston Dow Center: child/stepchild, legal ward, spouse, grandchild, brother/sister. In addition, scholarship applications are limited to high school seniors, college freshmen, college sophomores, and college juniors.
